The Red Rock Hot Club is recognized as one of the top American Gypsy Jazz Ensembles. Founded in 1999, and led by the swinging guitar stylings of Rich D'aigle, the group specializes in Gypsy Jazz; a European take of an American art form. A German-Canadian native, Anke Summerhill has made her home in Salt Lake City since the mid 1980's. She has been faithfully practicing the art of songwriting since that time. Anke's song: "Stars at Noon", reflects perfectly the character of the Southern Utah Wilderness she has grown to love. This, and several other songs of hers have been adopted by a variety of community groups to aid their fund raising efforts. Leaping Lulu plays traditional dance and Celtic music along with a number of their own compositions. They make their music with fiddle, guitar, cittern, flute, piccolo, vocals and the bodhran (Irish drum). Leaping Lulu was featured on a one-hour live radio broadcast over KRCL - FM radio of Salt Lake City, and was recently featured on the national radio program "The Folk Sampler". They have opened for Celtic harpist, Patrick Ball, and even played dinner music for Eileen Ivers and her band, Immigrant Soul. For several years they collaborated with the Inishfre Irish Dance group for their St. Patrick's Celebration: Celtic Night at the Caine Lyric Theatre and the Ellen Eccles Theatre.
